Test change type reference

Use four consistent labels to interpret test-level activity without losing its Git context.

Updated 2026-06-06

Added

A new test definition appears in the recorded project history.

Deleted

A previously recorded test definition no longer appears in the suite snapshot associated with the change.

Renamed

A test is matched across a change to its recorded name rather than treated only as an unrelated deletion and addition.

Maintenance

An existing test changes while remaining part of the suite. This captures activity that matters to maintenance trends without claiming that the test was newly created.

Where labels appear

Change types are used by timeline entries, summary charts, filters, contributor breakdowns, and churn-oriented views. Each record retains its commit, author, date, framework, and affected test context.
